METRO is an multidisciplinary project with nine Swedish partners from a wide range of disciplines. The partners include both research organisations, such as universities and research institutes, and practitioners, such as the rescue services and metro operators. The nine partners are:

• Mälardalen University – School of Sustainable Development of Society and Technology
• SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden – Fire Technology
• Lund University – Department of Fire Safety Engineering and Systems Safety
• Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) – Defence and Security, Systems and Technology
• Gävle University – Department of Technology and Built Environment
• Swedish National Defence College – CRISMART
• Swedish Fortifications Agency
• Greater Stockholm Fire Brigade
• Stockholm Public Transport (SL)

A reference group with representatives from industry, academia and government agencies is also closely linked to METRO. The partners and the reference group meet on a regular basis (one to two times per year) to discuss the progress of the project.
